Balenciaga Scandal Grows as Lawsuit Gets Filed & Kanye West Speaks about His Former Collaborator
More disturbing details keep coming out about the Balenciaga kid photos and the artist tied to the campaign--see with your own eyes his dark, twisted paintings that symbolize child abuse.
The grotesque, highly inappropriate ad campaign from high-end fashion brand Balenciaga is still making folks angry and nauseous as customers drop the brand. Meanwhile, the rich and famous associated with Balenciaga are scattering like cockroaches after the light of careful observation was flipped onto their recent marketing campaign featuring children surrounded by symbols of pedophilia acceptance.
Some additional artwork associated with the artist Michael Borreman has turned up (Borreman’s book was placed in the background of this photo):
Here are a couple samples of his disturbing artwork:
The artist’s body of work is controversial. Much of it is dark, bizarre, and prompts many questions of the artist’s intent—his message. What is he saying through works like this?
And this?
A major brand like Balenciaga would put a lot of thought, planning and careful execution into every photo shoot they authorize. There is no way that the book by Michael Borreman was accidently included in the background of the photo shoot. Dressing up a child’s stuffed animal in BDSM outfits is not something a fashion brand would do by accident or without careful thought.
Look at This Photo Closely
Someone noticed a roll of tape in one Balenciaga kid photo (circled in red):
Zoom in and you can see that the Balenciaga tape is spelled BAALenciaga:
In ancient Canaan - Baal was a god to whom children were sacrificed — usually burned alive. Other titles were “Baal-zebub” or Lord of the Flies.
Look closer and you can also see this drawing on the right side of the back wall:
The stuffed animal toy at the bottom left is also dressed in BDSM attire.
Who is To Blame?
The photographer went to his Instagram account to claim he had no say in the layout or art direction — he simply showed up and snapped his camera.
Meanwhile, Balenciaga went into full corporate-speak mode—taking some responsibility in this statement:
However, the fashion icon just filed a lawsuit against the people involved in the campaign.
From The NY Post: Balenciaga has filed a $25 million lawsuit against the producers of a controversial ad campaign that included a child pornography court ruling – amid backlash over the luxury brand’s BDSM teddy bears ads, new court papers show.
The fashion house brought the suit Friday against production company North Six, Inc. and set designer Nicholas Des Jardins and his eponymous company for the inclusion in one of the ads of legal documents from a US Supreme Court decision on child porn laws.
The fashion brand ad also showed unsettling pictures of a child holding teddy bears dressed in bondage outfits in ads that came out around the same time. The two-page court summons doesn’t mention the BDSM teddy bears.
Balenciaga is bringing the case “to seek redress for extensive damages defendants caused in connection with an advertising campaign Balenciaga hired them to produce,” the Manhattan Supreme Court summons alleges.
Kanye West on Balenciaga Scandal: ‘All Celebrities are Controlled’
The rapper formerly known as Kanye West (who now goes by ‘Ye’) chimed in on the scandal. West is a one-time collaborator and brand advocate for Balenciaga who lost his contract after making controversial statements last month. Balenciaga cut ties—which means West is free to talk—and he did.
From Page Six: “This just shows you all celebrities are controlled. You don’t see no celebrities talking about the Balenciaga situation,” West said, per TMZ.
“All of these celebrities out here, don’t let them influence you in any way, because they’re controlled by the people who really influence the world,” he added. “They’re not serving God.”
West’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian also issued her own statement on the Balenciaga ad campaign:
“As a mother of four, I have been shaken by the disturbing images. The safety of children must be held with the highest regard and any attempts to normalize child abuse of any kind should have no place in our society — period.”
“As for my future with Balenciaga, I am currently re-evaluating my relationship with the brand, basing it off their willingness to accept accountability for something that should have never happened to begin with — & the actions I am expecting to see them take to protect children.”
— Kim Kardashian
Kim’s social media followers were blasting her over this scandal for the past several days. But she did listen and came out with a condemnation—for what that’s worth.
Apparently keeping their Kardashian spokesperson happy is a top priority. The lawsuit was filed by Balenciaga shortly after Kim came out threatening to cut off her relationship with the company.
All in plain site now. And not just with Baalenciaga. The people who are still denying the moral decay of our society & the evil that has infiltrated it, are choosing to turn a blind eye to it. It's no longer deniable by anyone.
