Democrats are crushing TikTok
That's where GenZ goes to get their news. Meanwhile, the Republican National Committee has no TikTok presence. Meet the GenZer running for Congress who is warning conservatives to get with the times!
To win elections in 2022, looking at voters in the eyes is still an effective strategy.
However, candidates overlooking or downplaying social media do so to their detriment.
Karoline Leavitt knows this better than most - she is a 25-year-old (GenZ) candidate for Congress in New Hampshire.
In an interview with CBN News, Leavitt said, "I want your viewers to understand just how significant and frankly dangerous this is that the DNC is now utilizing TikTok. This is the number one app for my generation of Americans. It's where they go to seek their news ... my generation is not going to go in, fact check these videos. We've lost all critical thinking skills because of social media, so the Democrats are capitalizing on that. They are going to continue to brainwash my generation of voters, which is why it is so important that we push back on this."
Meanwhile, the Republican National Committee has no TikTok page. The White House turns TikTokkers with huge audiences into surrogates who parrot the administration’s talking points on everything - from gas prices to Covid to Ukraine.
We know Donald Trump used Twitter effectively before getting kicked off. And there are still some conservatives on Twitter or Facebook who use these platforms the best they can despite swimming upstream against unfair censorship.
But that’s not where young GenZ voters spend their time. TikTok is where people not left-of-center on the political spectrum should be spreading their message.
Unfortunately, many on the Right dislike TikTok due to its China connections and privacy issues.
I can’t say I’ve spent a lot of time on TikTok. I have only visited the platform a few times. I don’t think I ever created an account. I guess I still think of TikTok as a place to watch dance videos.
There’s more to TikTok these days.
Anyone wanting to influence GenZ should be on TikTok.
Like Twitter and YouTube, conservatives and libertarians must utilize TikTok - asap.
Like, yesterday.
Because right now, Progressive Democrats are winning the social media game.
