Ghislaine Maxwell - Will Justice Prevail?
Her sentencing is coming soon - She wants out of the U.S. penal system - How much time will Maxwell serve?
What’s the latest on Ghislaine Maxwell?
She’s still complaining about the conditions of her Brooklyn jail while awaiting sentencing scheduled for June 28.
Her lawyers tried to get her conviction thrown out, but U.S. District Judge Alison J. Nathan said the jury’s guilty verdicts are “readily supported” through witness testimony and documentation.
Her high-priced lawyers are working hard to move Maxwell to a more comfortable prison and say they expect her sentencing to be around four to five years. On the other hand, probation officials recommended a 20-year sentence and said her conviction could get as much as 25 to 30 years.
A lawyer reacting to Maxwell’s lawyers’ suggestion for brief four-year sentencing told the British newspaper The Mirror: “To argue she should serve such a short sentence is delusional, something you would expect her father would think. He thought he was above the law, and it seems Ghislaine inherited that trait.”
Those victims who shared their testimony in court were pleased with the conviction of Maxwell but won’t wholly exhale until her sentencing next week.
Will the judge deliver justice to those abused by Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein? Or will Maxwell receive a shockingly "light” prison term?
We will find out a week from tomorrow (Tuesday).
