Las Vegas Investigative Reporter Found Dead Outside Home
"He was the gold standard of the news business." - Plus: Will your state follow California's Green Dream? And a "Caught on Tape"
Jeff German, a fearless investigative reporter who confronted crime and corruption during his long career, has been found dead outside his home from multiple stab wounds.
The 69-year-old newspaper journalist was highly regarded by news colleagues for his hard-hitting work - diving into tough stories around Vegas. “He was the gold standard of the news business. It’s hard to imagine what Las Vegas would be like today without his many years of shining a bright light on dark places,” said Review-Journal Executive Editor Glenn Cook.
German led the local news reporting on the 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting.
When a REAL journalist who delivers unbiased, quality work exits the profession for any reason, we all lose.
Investigative journalists like Jeff German are an endangered species.
~ Will Your State Follow California in Banning Gas Vehicles?
You didn’t think the madness would stop in the Golden State, did you?
California’s recent legislation banning gas cars and forcing everyone to switch to electric cars by 2035 sounds like something kooky California would do. It’s not a big shock.
But what about your state?
According to FOX News, this green extreme could be coming to almost twenty additional states.
Several of the 17 states are likely to move forward with the plan, including Washington, Massachusetts, New York, Oregon and Vermont. California's restrictions are the strictest in the country, mandating that all new vehicles run on either electricity or hydrogen by 2035.
The mandate is facing fierce pushback in states like Minnesota, where the Minnesota Auto Dealers Association argues the weather prohibits the use of solely electric vehicles.
"The technology is such that the vehicles just don’t perform that well in cold weather," Scott Lambert, the trade group’s president, told the Associated Press. "We don’t all live in southern California."
If Elon Musk is truly an advocate for personal freedom, let’s see him come out in opposition to these forced measures that will surely be a boondoggle for Tesla.

~ Money Grubbing Bureaucrat in Australia Caught on Tape
One of the silver linings to having surveillance cameras everywhere is moments like this: watch this council worker in Toowoomba, Australia lure a cat out into the street so she can write up a citation. (Is she dropping cat treats out from her pocket? Hard to clearly say.)
Hey - at least she’s not armed like American IRS agents.
Was he still investigating/writing about the shooting? Hmm
