~ Starbucks Shutting Down Many Stores - Their Reason Why Has This Political Party Seething
Not long ago, Starbucks reigned supreme in Democratic urban areas. Their drive-throughs often filled up with Democrats needing a caffeine fix on their way to the protests, while progressives sat inside sipping lattes, griping about Trump.
However, Starbucks CEO Howard Shultz (a Democrat donor) is changing all that.
Shultz is leading Starbucks corporate reforms to keep the company viable as America has, according to Shultz, become “unsafe.”
He doesn’t mince words on who he’s blaming for the urban decay and dangerousness.
“I must say, in my view at the local, state and federal level, these governments across the country and leaders, mayors and governors, city councils have abdicated their responsibility in fighting crime and addressing mental health,” Schultz said in a video posted on Twitter.
Starbucks is looking to close down locations in Seattle, Portland, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and D.C. - all cities with “woke” reputations managed by Democrats.
The company finally acknowledges that their workers are unsafe in these areas where calls to Defund the Police get shrieked the loudest.
Speaking at an internal company event, Shultz says:
"Starbucks is a window into America... we are facing things in which the stores were not built for... we're listening to our people and closing stores, & this is just the beginning. There are gonna be many more.” — Starbucks CEO Howard Shultz
“I don’t have to spend too much time on what’s going on in the country and how America has become unsafe,” Schultz said. “But you all read the press release last couple of days about the fact that we are beginning to close stores that are not unprofitable.”
“And then we heard the stories that go along with it about what happens in our bathrooms; the issue of mental illness, the issues of homelessness and the issues of crime,” Schultz said.
I quit visiting Starbucks a few years ago - not because of these issues raised by the CEO. I’m not too fond of their coffee tasting like burnt toast. And their customer service has deteriorated substantially. (But so has many other food and beverage places, struggling these days to find and keep good workers.)
