Russian Tacos, Ukraine's Big Request, Psaki the Peace Spreader, and Spicy Leftovers
The problem with war is that you don’t know where it’s going.
Wars normally start as a dispute between two countries. And if the strife stays contained within those two countries, everyone else feels relieved.
In fact, most people end up ignoring war when it doesn’t directly affect their life.
But when the war involves a “superpower” like Russia, vs. a country that was close to joining NATO (Ukraine), then EVERYONE pays attention.
We can hope and pray this skirmish between Ukraine and Russia ends soon and doesn’t metastasize to other parts of the globe.
What’s concerning is the potential for this to get out of hand. Like, when Zelensky pushed Biden on no-fly zones for Russian aircraft.
If it makes you feel any better, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki had this to say on Monday:
Yeah, that didn’t make me feel any better, either.
While the White House is saying they don’t want any conflict, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told Axios that Ukraine “needs the west to impose a no-fly zone,” which would escalate the situation X10.

“Well, here’s what’s important for everybody to know about a no-fly zone: What that would require is implementation by the U.S. military,” Psaki said. “It would essentially mean the U.S. military would be shooting down planes, Russian planes.” “That is definitely escalatory,” she continued. “That would potentially put us into a place where we’re in a military conflict with Russia – that is not something the president wants to do.” - Jen Psaki, White House Press Secretary
Meanwhile, the White House is boasting that Joe Biden is "leading” the opposition against “Vladimir Putin” - get this - “behind the scenes.”
Hasn’t he been leading “behind the scenes” since he campaigned for the POTUS job from his basement?
