A quick report that makes you go hmmm: two large scale fires today both occurred at recycling facilities.
Interesting.
The fire in Richmond, Indiana is producing LARGE amounts of hazardous fumes. According to the Indiana State fire Marshal Steve Jones "the smoke is definitely toxic." He said the areas needing to evacuate may change based on the direction the wind carries the smoke. He also said the fire is expected to burn for a few days. (source)
The other fire is occurring this evening in Jersey City, NJ. This one also is producing toxic fumes that can be seen in Manhattan, NY.
