We now know the identity of the mass shooter.

At least 22 people are dead--a tragic story emerging from Stephen King's home state of Maine.

Police are hunting for Robert Card—a suspect in the Wednesday, Oct. 25 evening shooting spree that spanned three locations in Lewiston, Maine.

Not only has the alleged shooter killed 22 people, but an additional 50 to 60 others are injured.

It’s like a bad Stephen King novel.

David Begnaud, a CBS News correspondent, also confirmed the suspect’s name is Robert Card in an X post. Scanner audio and a screenshot of a BOLO alert from police named Card. The law enforcement alert, from the Maine Information and Analysis enter, said that “Maine State Police is attempting to locate Robert Card as a person of interest regarding a mass shooting incident at Schemengees Bar & grille Restaurant and the Sparetime Recreation in Lewiston, Maine.”

According to the Sun Journal, the shootings occurred at Sparetime Recreation on Mollison Way about 7:15 p.m. and at Schemengees Bar & Grille Restaurant on Lincoln Street.

At about 8:15 p.m., another shooting “was reported at the Walmart Distribution Center on Alfred A Plourde Parkway,” according to the Sun Journal.

According to Jacqui Heinrich, a Fox News White House Correspondent, writing on X, confirmed the number of victims via law enforcement sources.

The Robert Card who is the suspect is not a Robert Card who is registered sex offender. Some people shared information about the wrong Robert Card on social media accounts. Heavy is working to verify an X (formerly Twitter) account in Robert Card’s name.

Another shooter with military ties—there’s still much more to learn about Card.

Like his motive.
