LETTER FROM THE EDITOR

Happy Saturday!

I have a special announcement for all subscribers - both longtime and newbies - concerning these Saturday posts called Weekend Red Pills.

Firstly, let me explain the purpose of these posts and what I mean by “red pills.”

Weekend Red Pills are a collection of alternative news articles that I aggregate together. The journalistic articles and editorials that I hand pick are chosen based on two criteria: their recency (99% are current, having been published during the previous week.) Secondly, these stories and editorials are chosen for their “narrative breaking” abilities. What that means is you get stories and opinion pieces that are difficult or impossible to find in mainstream news websites or “normal” cable news channels because they go against the grain, so to speak. These stories are “politically incorrect.” The news and information in these pieces of content go against the current narrative being pushed by our aspiring overlords.

If you are unclear on the phrase “red pill”, the term comes from a movie called The Matrix. The Urban Dictionary defines the term this way:

‘Red pill’ has become a popular phrase among cyberculture and signifies a free-thinking attitude, and a waking up from a “normal” life of sloth and ignorance. Red pills prefer the truth, no matter how gritty and painful it may be. (source)

When it comes to finding interesting, compelling news stories that “break the narrative,” and then aggregating and curating them into something useful and entertaining—you’ll be hard pressed to find anyone that tops what I do. I’m kind of weird—I spend a lot of time on the news. The way I see it, if someone is willing to do all the leg work to bring you jaw-dropping and intriguing news stories every Saturday neatly organized and all you have to do is sit back with a cup of coffee and read—why wouldn’t you want that?

So, I provide hot alternative news, unusual sports stories relevant to a wide variety of people (if you haven’t noticed, most of the sports stories are about topics like ‘transgenderism in athletics and other topics that can appeal to people not normally interested in sports), along with culturally relevant entertainment stories. And memes! Everybody loves memes, right?

Big Announcement: I’ve given this a lot of thought, and I decided to make a change—I’m letting you know that TODAY will be the last time this Weekend Red Pills weekly issue will be available for free subscribers.

WRP will be moving to the “premium” content category and will be available for PAID SUBSCRIBERS only.

To continue receiving this Saturday morning edition of News Detectives—consider upgrading your subscription to a paid subscription plan—this will enable me to invest more time into transforming News Detectives into a greater newsletter that you’ll enjoy even more:
