A Surprising Source for Political News
When your money is at stake - real news - not propaganda - is crucial to find. Here is one source for political news that may surprise you.
Over the past few years, I’ve discovered a new source for political news that I find to be one of the best available.
What is it?
Financial-oriented news blogs.
Of course, their written and video content offers plenty of news and information directly related to finance, economics, the economy, and business.
However, if you spend a little time following financial news sources - including precious metals, cryptocurrency, and real estate investing publishers - you will quickly discover that many of these outlets offer some tremendous political analysis.
Let’s face it, we may not care about politics, but politics cares a LOT about you, and the topic is tough to avoid when it comes to your money.
That’s why here at News Detectives, we include news sites and content creators considered to be sources of financial news.
Will you see advertisements from these news sources offering products like gold investing or whatever they sell? Yes, of course.
But that doesn’t mean you should avoid these news outlets. You wade through the drug ads and movie promos on the channels you watch now, so buck up and click “Skip Ad” when you can.
Today, I discovered a YouTube channel called Palisades Gold Radio.
Someone shared this recent episode, and after listening to it, I thought I’d share it because it is good solid information.
Can Russia Kill the Great Reset?
I highly recommend listening to this one if you can. Tom Luongo brings a fresh take on the Ukraine/Russia war based on his antiwar, free-market libertarianism, and Austrian economist. His work is found on Zerohedge, Lewrockwell.com, Bitcoin magazine, and Newsmax Media.
He’s a chemist by trade who now milks goats, owns a few guns, and ran for Congress once. I found him to be articulate with extensive knowledge of world affairs.
Enjoy:
At around the 12 minute mark, Tom Luongo says this regarding news sources.
"You have to understand the motivations and allegiances of each of the players [news sources] in the game. It is not controversial to say The Washington Post is a house organ for the See Eye Aye [not to single them out]. It's not controversial... this is the way these things work. And understanding that allows you then to read a news article , glean the facts out of the news article, and ignore the commentary. Then ask yourself why are they trying to present these facts this way, at this moment of time, and for what purpose?
That's a perfect explanation of how we must always apply critical thinking to whatever news we consume. I need to do more of that.
There's a lot to unpack in this interview. Excellent post, Matthew.
