He will "never allow the government to impose a digital I.D." Do you believe him?

Canadian politics is something I’m not well-versed on as an American. I do know that Pierre Poilievre is a leading figure in Canada’s Conservative Party. After watching many video clips of Poilievre since 2020—he strikes me as an articulate fella who enjoys making blunt statements without hesitation and knows how to make conservative Canadians stand up and cheer—he’s been a leading critic against Justin Trudeau’s authoritarian policies.
Here is one example from earlier in the week: what looks to be a town-hall meeting, reportedly in Windsor, a video shows the room erupting when Poilievre says:
“I will answer your question—I will never allow the government to impose a digital I.D.” — Pierre Poilievre, MP, Canada
Is Poilievre known to be someone who keeps his word? Is he a true fighter for the people of Canada? Or is he a slick-talking member of the Uniparty? (I’ve seen Canadians talk about their own uniparty issues, like Americans do.) I don’t know him well enough to say. He’s known as the Conservative Party’s “attack dog.” But we’ve seen similar political figures in the U.S. who turned out to be all bark and no bite.
For the record—Poilivre “says” he opposes a digital I.D. for Canadians. You can hear it straight from his mouth in this tweet (and see the rousing standing ovation he receives.)
P.S. If you are Canadian or knowledgeable on Canadian politics, please share your thoughts on Poilievre in the comments.
Free Speech Platform Sues New York and Wins!
New York native Mickey Z. shared exciting news today from his home state:
In December 2022, Rumble (the free speech video-sharing platform) sued New York — citing the law as unconstitutional
This week, Judge Andrew L. Carter, Jr. ruled on Rumble’s complaint and blocked the law, saying:
“Speech that demeans on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, age, disability, or any other similar ground is hateful; but the proudest boast of our free speech jurisprudence is that we protect the freedom to express ‘the thought that we hate.’”
Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski promptly tweeted: “The founding fathers would be proud today.”
The leader of Rumble also tweeted this:

Florida Surgeon General is On the Right Side of History
From Steve Kirsch: What is stunning is the silence from the medical community and other state surgeon generals.
One surgeon general is on the right side of history. The others? Well, not so much.
It would be great to have a debate on this issue wouldn’t it? Clearly, it’s something that is important to resolve. But there will be no debates.
Ladapo calls for transparency. The single best way to provide that transparency is to release the record-level data on deaths and vaccination so that EVERYONE can see what is going on.
Will they do this? Not a chance.
The reason is simple: Our government doesn’t want anyone to find out how many Americans they have killed.
If they want to prove me wrong, release the data! There is absolutely no reason to hide the truth.
Here is the Letter Ladapo sent to Walensky and Califf:

Canadian here... I joined the Conservative Party just so I could vote in the leadership race to get Pollievre that spot. I have no answer to your question though, if he would go back on his word should he get elected as our PM. I hope to God he wouldn't, because he is our only hope for a free country. Personally I will refuse a digital ID just as I refused the jabs, but I have no idea if it will possible to continue to live within society if the country makes digital ID an absolute requirement.
