Yep. In a previous post on Cawthorn I pointed out that the Fire Madison group was spearheaded by Mo Davis - who lost to Cawthorn in 2020.

The headline about Madison was in Asheville Citizen-Times. I believe it's owned by Gannett (Gatehouse Media) which also publishes USA Today.
